Madison Co. Virginia | I'm a newbie at this stuff...
I bought a Lenovo Thinkpad t410 laptop, and it came with a fresh install of Windows. Internet speeds were very good for the first day or two. It slowed down to a complete crawl. I was planning to wipe it and reinstall Linux anyway, so I went ahead with that. Now that Debian Linux is running, it's no faster.
A wired ethernet connection on a good Windows laptop gives me 333 Mbps. I connect the same ethernet cable to this laptop, and I'm seeing 0.48 Mbps.
Where do I start with this?
Edit to add: Wifi connections are quite a bit slower. Just now, I was seeing 15 Mbps on a wifi-connected machine.
