Missouri | ST's 4 mill has been performing really well for several people I've talked with. Her last aspiration was with one of their 4 mill heifer straws and it produced 27 eggs, which was 10 more than she averaged on her last 3 using semen from other studs. ST does have a relatively new bull, who is owned by the right names, that people seem to be excited about, but I was kind of trying to stay out of that unproven bull of the month club rut. This will also most likely be the cow's only crossbred pairing, so it's already a bit of an out of the box gamble as it is. I guess I could just split the aspiration and use two bulls to improve the odds of something working.
Bulls not improving cows seems to be a growing issue. Maybe they'll make an epd for that. |
