You missed his point. Re-read his post and think for a moment or two. His generational ranch more than likely has little to zero debt..........but the return on asset sucks!
I get it, he's trying to make the economics work all on one seasonal enterprise like they did 100 years ago, maybe he needs to integrate guided hunts and other recreational income that is driving the land values up. The cattle business alone is underutilizing the economic value of the land. It may make more sense to sell it and replace with corn belt ground that can make 200bu corn an acre then feed cows over the winter with ethanol coproducts less than an hour away. |
