Live in the now? Keep the wheels moving, buy back as one sells. That’s living in the now, isn’t it? 2020 will be good, not great......kids will get new shoes. BUT, in February it sure felt like I’d be having to pay a little more for these calves. Not a rancher in the west getting rich selling calves for where they are priced, simple economics. The buyers won’t. Feed prices climbing, stagnation in the fed market (been between $1 and $1.2 for going on 5 years!). One things for dang sure, when we break out of this trading range, I’m going to be absolutely maxed out on inventory!!!!!!! Cows and feeders! I feel that it will happen in the next year or two. 100% of the feed is on hand for 120% of my normal inventory, keep the trucks rolling!
