Russ, I always enjoy your posts. We have to have rfid tags for NHTC. We have been using the Alflex tags and readers for many years. Let’s just say there are newer and better systems out there. That is putting it kindly.

I ran across the ultra high frequency tags on YouTube. I will post a few pics, but look them up on YouTube videos, they look A LOT more user friendly than what we are using now. Being able to read tags from 20 feet and read all tags as they go down an alleyway between pens would be wonderful!!! The tags have a printed circuit on the back and easy to see if a large tag is still in the ear. They have a large panel tag that you can write your own number on also ( might work better for cows).


Buying readers for those dollars would be like paying $300k for a pickup.

This may be stuff marketed toward farmers.
There are LOTS of other ways of getting this technology (tags not so much) but for readers - - - - - a LOT cheaper!!!!
