Jewell County KS | What should I expect for an average dryland alfalfa yeild in north central kansas?
Long story short is I planted a new stand summer of 19 after wheat harvest and a custom spray guy sprayed dicamba on it for a burndown instead of the 2-4-d i wanted. Results not that good.
I replanted in the spring of 20 and have a decent stand now. I did take 4 cuttings off this year but the first was mostly volunteer wheat and the other 3 the plants were stunted in alot of the feild
Ive put up alot of alfalfa but got to the point of not keeping track of the yeild all that well.
They are going to make it right but not sure how to proceed on expected yeild and what it should have made last year. Probably would have got one cutting last fall I guess.
I got 3 ton/acre this year counting the volunteer wheat for first cutting.
Opinions please? | |
