EC North Dakota | I saw that.
Bill Montgomery was our buyer when I was a kid. He'd come out in his giant car and walk through the yards every few weeks to offer a bid. I would ride with dad in his gas truck to take a load down late at night. We'd have to put gas on in West Fargo to make it back home. Our neighbor would go down at 10 pm and grab a steak on Main Avenue on the way home. He made a second load one night and tipped his truck when he fell asleep. The highway patrol had to help him get the animals rounded up.
We started hauling fats to IBP around the mid-seventies..? Seems to me West Fargo was only doing culls and bulls after that...?
West Fargo was nothing but a stock yard/packing plant not all that many years ago. It's pretty big now and no packing.
I'll have to ask Dad if he's heard anything yet. He'll be pretty sad thinking of all the memories.
