I have a 499 and while its old and slow, it gets the job done just fine qnd will really eat through a lot of hay if you set it up right. Keep the center overlap sections sharp and grease it and it will just cut. I drug nine across close to 300 acres last year


I agree with this, we drag a 499 over 3 to 400 acres a year. I keep thinking we’re going to upgrade but the dang things just keep going and going. The big thing is get a book because the slightest adjustments can make a huge difference.
