South Central MN | I guess my thoughts are the opposite, any wheel rake would be forcing the loose stalks over the stubs and creating a lot of strain on the rake teeth. The merger is picking the cut bits up vertically, and should have minimal side load on the pickup teeth, can't be much worse than merging hay windrows.
Looks to be doing a good job, leaving some residue for cover, while getting the majority of the stalks. | |
