| I had one steer in a load of preconditioned 625# steers that was a hayburner only from the first part of October until this week. I'm feeding enough complete silage/haylage ration in the bunk that the pen will eat a couple pounds of dry free-choice hay a day. This one steer would only eat hay, and watch the rest of the pen mates line up to the bunk. Finally this week he tried the complete ration, and yesterday he was in the way waiting at the bunk when I pulled in to feed them. I kept thinking if he ever looked "off" I'd pull and treat him, but he was just as healthy as could be. He just wanted to eat hay for a month! | |
