Custom slaughter operator says do not feed any silage to cattle for 2 weeks prior to slaughter. Says it will give time to remove the bad flavor that silage gives to the beef. Never heard that or experienced it in any beef from our animals that ate silage right up until kill date.


And if you feed them a bunch of salt, the meat will be jerky. Don't believe everything someone tells you. I know of a guy who really thinks the earth is flat.


X2. Should feed them steak spice instead, then they’re pre seasoned.
