Sioux County, NWIA | I’m going to throw this observation out there. Baled some stalks off my neighbors ground in a select area. Next year the beans grew more vigorously in the area where the stalks had been removed. It appeared that the decomposing stalks tied up N that the beans needed initially before they start fixing their own N. Then later in the season that area where the stalks had been baled got hit by white mold. Beans were in 15” rows.
Many fields here get the stalks baled off year after year, get plastered with manure, and grow great crops. | |
