A small group of us went South of Yuma today to see the new wall being built. It was about 40+ mile one way ride to the wall. We weren’t sure how far the border patrol would let us go but surprisingly the let us go right up to it and even touch it. They were watching us 100% of the time and even followed us out of the work zone to make sure we couldn’t go where the heavy construction was. They were very friendly to us and even waved to us as we left :-).
In some of the pictures you can see the old wall in the background, a much shorter wall and it stops at the mountains. This was is going right over the top. The bulldozers you see look pretty miniature compared to the mountains.
I’m glad we went I was always hoping to go last year but our trips always went in different directions.
One thing I NEED to do before our next trip is put in my extra gas can, I totally forgot to throw it in. I filled the RZR on Sunday and my wife drove around some but I didn’t think I used that much. About 20-25 minutes from town my fuel indicator started flashing I was low on full. I filled up at the first gas station and put in 7.04 gallons,,,,,, the tank holds 7.25 gallons.
Drove to the new wall today.
