My family member Medicare expert says Medicare DOES pay for shingle vaccinations. It falls under the "drug plan". So, it depends on which plan a person has, which means it depends on the deductible in the plan. There are many different plans & deductibles. If one hasn't yet met their deductible, they will in effect pay some or all of the vaccination charge, which typically runs $180 locally.
Right now, annual re-enrollment in drug plan is underway. |
