Central Illinois | S670 vertical auger splines are shot on my combine, 1300 separator hours. Top vertical gearbox splines are shot. Dealer says they regularly replace the vertical auger every two years because of this. They also recommended replacing the bottom bearing with one off an S680 that runs in an oil bath (mine had a lot of play in it). Having a hard time believing splines should wear out before an auger. Seems Deere should be using a larger shaft or some other solution to fix this problem. Seems Deere has realized if they build them to last like they used to they miss out on service $$.
Has anyone tried the Lankota cleanout kit to help get the vertical and horizontal augers cleaned out before turning them off.
