I think a lot of people are confused and don’t realize the election of our congressmen/women is more important to policy issues than our President. Do you realize there has only been 13 times in the last 67 years that a party has controlled the Presidency and both the House and Senate?  That’s only 13 times since Eisenhower!!!! For any candidate to say he/she is gonna do this or that by the year whatever is nothing but speculative malarchy unless he/she is just talking 4 years out......and that is if their party flavor controls all of congress! The way the country and politics are divided now it’ll take a total sweep of one side or the other to get anything done with their agendas.... whether it is good or bad. We NEED Presidents AND Congressmen/women who are AMERICANS first and not simply a Republican or Democrat!!!!! Maybe Reagan had that mentality? Eight years in office with 0 years of total control of both sides of congress but still managed to work and get things done without a hell of a lot of Executive Orders you see now a days!!! TIRED OF THE BS!!!!!!!!

That would be the ideal.  It was a time when democrats still respected religion, loved their country, did not believe everyone was racist.  The problem today is that the left has gone so far left that they hate about every aspect of this country.  They would like to see it destroyed and replaced with a communist/socialist system.

Remember that the democrats who are running for congress and senate vocally said that all subsidies and price supports for farmers should be removed.  How comfortable are you with no crop insurance except private?  How comfortable are you with no deductions for investments in equipment, facilities and processes.  How comfortable are you with things like "Waters of the US", Wetland protection, Run-off Mitigation, etc.  All of those programs that aim to tell you that you are an idiot and government will tell you how to run your farm.  That is what democrats want.  They all voted for it.

Republicans are the opposite.  Sometimes going a little too far.

There is just too wide of a gulf between the modern day parties.

Look at the next "Covid Payment".  Democrats want over two trillion dollars.  Trump said 1 trillion.  Those are such huge sums I don't know where the money will come from to pay them off.  The extra money in the democrats proposal goes to pay mostly democrat cities for their failed social programs.  Trumps proposal is just cash to people for them to spend on what they need.  No Bail-out for cities that shut everything down and destroyed their tax bases ability to pay.

Most farms have a million or more in assets (Land, Equipment, animals, crops, etc.).  That is RICH to many people who live in a city and live paycheck to paycheck.  The city people think you're not paying your fair share.  They want to tax you more.  Most don't run businesses and realize all that "Stuff" is needed just to produce a commodity to sell. Margins are thin and money that is made usually is just enough to live a normal middle class life.  City people see Combines, Tractors, Semi-tractors, Big Barns, House, trucks and think "Man that place is rich to have all that stuff."  Those same people vote democrat.
