It’s a variation of the rice diet.

It works by significantly restricting calories and putting you into ketosis. It can be a nasty transition but the youth are usually pretty flexible.

Classic rice diet starts at 800 calories then moves up into the 1200 to 1500 range.

Once into ketosis the hunger is greatly reduced.

Important part is avoiding any fats. At least until you are happy with your weight.

While there is limited research that looks at this what we have says fat with carbs lowers blood glucose by increasing insulin. To get into ketosis, you need low insulin.

So once you are insulin sensitive you quickly burn off the carbs and go back into ketosis. Because your glycogen starts out depleted each day, you don’t get fat storage.

These diets are generally deficient in B12 and the fat soluble vitamins.
