Subject: RE: InCommand not always recognizing SteerCommand

Hennepin, IL
Steercommand and Ontrac both have to have a constant 12v which almost always comes from the guidance power circuit of the battery cable. What I was referring to was on a customer's machine with an older battery cable that didn't have the guidance power lead, I rigged up a cable to pull a constant 12v from somewhere around the cab. Mustve been enough of a voltage drop that it caused the ontrac to do some weird things. The second source of power that both utilize is a guidance activation which comes off the display cable. That essentially sends a 12v signal when the display powers up to also power up the steering ecu. Maybe check to make sure the plug on the display cable labeled guidance activation has 12v when the display is on and it isn't communicating with steercommand.
