Cambridge, southwestern Nebraska | I remember those years very well. '95 turned out dry and a short crop after having a wet spring. By late summer of '96 corn was scarce making new record highs. I knew some guys who planted short season corn that year and sold $5.00 corn off the combine in late August through September.
Right now in this area there is a lot of corn moving south out of the area. And I mean a LOT of corn. Most elevators don't expect to have to pile much if any on the ground as corn moves out of the area during harvest. I think corn will be hard to find around here before next falls harvest.
