n.c.iowa | Several reasons....
Demoed a couple drapers, one was of the more “popular” model, and a lesser known flex Draper.
also have scouted a few fields that had very competent operators running drapers of a couple different manufacturers.
While it’s impressive to watch the beans come in like little soldiers, in a orderly, even fashion, after that I haven’t been impressed enough to give me the urge to rub my seed sack on it every morning like some of these guys seem to do......Cutter bars are cutter bars no matter what’s behind them.
looking at the used market it would seem that a decent portion of drapers have air bars/reels on them, I”m thinking that should be telling me something.
the weight and complexity of draper heads compared to auger heads to me is a turnoff.
