And as to the original question just low enough to catch the ears and drive slow. My beans were slow to mature and some of my solid stand corn didn't have corn headlands. I put 3 passes worth on each end via perpendicular trips. Putting in covers this week there wasn't any more loss there according to the few kernels that sprouted after the vt followed the combine.
