South Central MN | I took in a couple loads today that were at 14.2%, this is contracted, so no shrink or drying charge if under 15%. This stuff actually got priced when we were worrying about putting in 2019's crop... Funny how it isn't far off of what the cash price is right now at the co-op I haul into.
Here the co-op charges a full percent of moisture for drying and shrink and then scales up from that, so technically get screwed in the range from 15.1 to 15.8%, you will need to decide if your cost of handling outweighs something like this. (Bin, and run air? Depends on humidity though, and we won't have a lot of warm, low humidity days left for the year.) | |
