Subject: RE: Manure analysis?

Beresford, SD
Midwest Labs. Agronomist does it for me. Grid sampled 2 farms last fall. Variable rate spread PKSZ, lime. Results at harvest were mind blowing!!!!!!!!!!! Every acre we farm and custom farm are getting gridded......even the farms close to the feedyard. I’ll spread the crap where it’s needed most. Some areas I can skip the manure until my son is closing in on retirement. Taking the next step, Got 4 years of yield maps to overlay. Cost is not cheap, $14 acre.....but a card for variable rate prescription population is tied in on the deal. The best farm yield wise should not have been....it was VRF last fall. We are sold. Testing manure is a must, put it where it belongs.....if ya can. Some times of the year one just has to get rid of it! Some times that’s where it will do ya no good. Learning a little with every harvest!
