Moldboard plowing seems to wake the deep ones.

Dr. G is right that sod doesn't withdraw many from the bank.

My observation this year was that the jimsonweed didn't germinate in large quantity until 3rd cultivation in my beans where I had rotavated rye stubble after baling it at boot stage.
