Subject: Weaning and weather.

Temperatures in Iowa have been up and down. Lots are dry and dusty. Calves are in pasture eating 5# creep per day with some snotty noses in the morning. Still some grass in the pasture. I’d like to wean this weekend...weather temps are forecasted to level off with 55 degree highs and 40 degree lows. Some of the younger cows getting pulled down. I’ll keep the calves till Jan.
Wean or wait a few more weeks in fall weather pattern?
