South Eastern VA | I definitely agree with trying more diversity.
I tell my friends to split some fields, you don’t have to do the exact same thing across every acre. I keep reading all these articles about how great diversity is when it comes to cover crops.
The only exception is if you have a serious weed problem. My example is one field with heavy velvet leaf infestation. I planted straight cereal rye so I can blast it with heavy amounts of 24D or dicamba to kill it all and not hurt my covers. | |
