Subject: RE: Corn row width

SW Ontario
We were 22” rows forever, then went to 20” in 2012. Got along ok but we didn’t really see much net benefit after all the hassle of oddball equipment, difficulty sidedressing and spraying fungicide, and trying to get dry fert on a 60’ 20” planter. Went to 30” inch corn this year and I can say I’ll never go back to 20” until other yield limiting factors are addressed. One thing I do miss is 20” beans, they were great. Having said that we had our best bean year ever on 30” so maybe don’t miss it as much as I thought.
