You won't be able to update it through the brown box. If you had a 2600/2630/Gen4 display, you could go to the John Deere Stellar Support website and download the software to install yourself. Since you have a brown box, you will need to take the receiver to a dealer for updates (or find a neighbor that has a newer display to perform the update).
