| Dad lost steering today and when he got out to investigate found the whole right hand side of the combine covered in hydraulic oil. Well now we know why he lost steering. The fuel tank, hydraulic cooler, and fan screen are covered in oil as well as the outside of the combine. We can’t seem to find where the leak is though. Unload auger swings out, feeder house still lifts and lowers despite there being no oil on the stick, the unload auger doesn’t turn on though. Thinking it must be something to do with that.
We poured 1/3 of a pail of oil into the reservoir and tried some things while watching for leaks. Unload auger ran for about 10 seconds until the oil ran out again, still weren’t able to see where it was going though! Best guess so far is one of the metallic looking pipes feeding into the cooler. Would like to know for sure though before we start tearing things apart.
