SW Ohio | I am one who does not use the four way flashers "most " of the time, only turn signals. One place i do use four ways is on a busy divided highway where two cars will come up behind you fast and the front one will whip over and the back one is up your tailpipe before they know what you are. our best alternative is strobe lights on all the time on the road, either one big random pattern one up high at the rear, or several near the outsides. Turn signal usage is so foreign to today's driver, I am not sure they even know what they mean anymore....... Some of the worst near misses I have seen are where I am turning left onto a side road or crossroad, or when oncoming traffic is coming over a hill or otherwise sight distance is short, That orange triangle must mean to your followers, "you can do whatever you want, damn the other road users or traffic laws" | |
