It’s 4x4 tubing for the main frame. 3.5”x3.5” for the extendable uprights. The H beam is left over from when we did the balcony and it measured out at 18’ 6”, I wouldn’t want it any narrower then that. Used 1” plate on the top of the upright to bolt the H beam to in case it ever needs to be taken apart. The holes for raising it up taller are drilled on 12” spacing and I used two pins per side, I think that the two pins/side helped take a lot of slop out as well. Welded some jacks onto each corner to make it stable and not roll around when I’m lifting. Caster wheels are rated at 2200lbs each and where only $35 each on sale, I thought that was a deal and they roll nice. Total price of the whole hoist including the 2, two ton hoists/trolleys was ~$2500.
