Getting on top of things early will help more than anything. Safety is the first priority so use caution and good sense. Start by picking a flank and pinch things off until you get to the head of the fire. Sometimes you have to make a few passes with a utv simply because the regular spray pumps don't have near the pressure or volume needed. Don't square off with the fire and always have an escape route. If you can get a disk out there the utv is better suited to for mop up. Most people around here run pickup mounted skids with firefighting nozzles for better capacity and a little more safety. A hot shield mask and goggles will help just as much as a fire skid.
