Bremen, KS | CB is AM--Amplitude Modulation--and subject to all the electrical noise in the vicinity.
VHF/UHF business band is FM--Frequency Modulation--which is largely unaffected by that noise although if it is strong enough it could block weaker signals but that is an issue independent of the modulation scheme. VHF/UHF business band also allows digital modulation. Digital radios might be less immune to the noise than FM depending on the digital protocol/encoding.
