Southern Ab | My father bought a 1904 Brunswick-Colinder from the Cutknife, Sask. pool hall in 1980. it was disassembled and in the owners garage. We did a road trip in the old 3-ton to go get it.
The table itself breaks down in to a lot of pieces. You won’t have issues until you need to move the slate. This was a 6x12 with 8 legs. Get lots of buddies on standby. This one was 1 1/2” and only 3 pieces.
The rails were attached with a flush head fastener. You may need to build a key to fit. Once the frame was built you get it levelled as best you can then lay the slate. Dad spent a few days with a hydraulic jack getting it shimmed proper. It seems to me he filled the joints between the slabs but I don’t remember with what or if it was just to repair edge chips or what the deal was.
That table became the social hub for a lot of gatherings. Snooker was the game when dads buddies dropped over. Dad and I played a lot of billiards. With my brothers in law we’d play golf. | |
