Subject: How Many Of You Guys Still Have John Deere 9600 Combines Question

Hey Guys,

I live in Northwest Oklahoma where our biggest crop is Hard Red Winter Wheat. I was just wondering how many of you still run John Deere 9600 combines? We still cut all of our wheat with two John Deere 8820s and two 7720s. I would like to eventually upgrade to a 9600. A lot of other guys in my have 3 to 4 9600s and cut all their wheat them. My Dad has a Diesel repair shop two hours south east of me. He mostly works on John Deere combines and he said he still takes care of 20 to 30 9600s. He was telling me that one of his customers saw a 9600 in the High Plains Journal for sale in Kansas for $14,000 he said his customer went up and bought it for $13,000. I guess the guy that was selling it was wanting to trade it for a newer combine and the dealership did not want it because it was to old. They told him he would be better off selling it to a salvage yard. My Dad told me when his customer brought it to his shop it was one of the nicer 9600s he had seen.

Thank you,
