Subject: RE: Draper head with air bar.

Mid-Missouri
I bought a draper in 2011 because of the great reviews, and needed a head to fit a new Lexion. 2011 soybeans were terribly dry here, with a lot of header loss, even with the draper. I was totally disappointed with MacDon at the time for how they designed the "rock trap" transition area from the side belts to the center section. It would fill with soybeans and they would leak out. They (and my own creativity) have made this area much better since then. A few years ago, I purchased a used airbar for the FD70 also. I don't use it in all conditions, as it consumes a good deal of power, but it really helps greatly when it is needed.

The draper sure feeds great, but yes, header loss is not eliminated.
