SW TX PANHANDLE
Is most of the southern plains hard red wheat too dry to plant or is it a regional thing? In the southern panhandle there will be no wheat this year(unless irrigated) without some major weather event coming out of no where. There were a few farms that dusted some in the first of this month. Many got a half inch of rain 3 weeks ago that may or may not have sprouted it and if it did I’m sure it’s dead by now. Would need multiple inches to even get a crop started. Outlook is not promising for that. Will be the first year in a long while there won’t be any dryland wheat here.
