Subject: RE: excavator advice(purchase)

Indianola, MS
I rented one through a Cat dealer and was very very very pleased. I had gotten a quote for a minimum of $25000 from a contractor to come do the work and the rental was under $8000 for a month and I added a week iirc. It had a thumb and after a little practice I really loved that, so get one. Owning an excavator as nice as what Cat brought me is just not something I could justify. They gave me 160 hours for $8k which is a bargain, Man I had so much fun and by the measure of the quote I got from the contractor I probably did $40k in work. Doing it myself I got to do all those things that came to mind as I worked. My neighbor bought an older smaller deere and that thing has sat needing work more than it has ran. Renting that newish Cat I never had any problems with it. They even came by and topped off the fluids themselves when I asked if it was okay to put 303 in it! lol
