My worry, would be once you clean the debris from the bottom, you might find very thin metal left or pinhole that will leak = all that cleaning work for nothing.

Plus, even if it didn't leak immediately, and you filled it with fuel, what if a pinhole hole started 6 months or 1 year from now? (what if you didn't see it for a few days, also = BTDT )


Just something to think about. ( = I replace my diesel tank, 2 years ago; and my gas tank, this year = both new tanks, should last my lifetime, I think)
