paul the original - 9/25/2020 22:05 My northern climate is going to be so different than your locations. Really hard to pick modern corn without it shelling when it is dry, 16% or lower. Really hard to store ear corn above 17% unless you have airflow - a crib 7 or so feet wide with slots for the air flow. Ear damage from the picker when dry or mold from storing it wet without air flow would really mount up here in my climate. Paul



Picked it at 22-24% last year and left it in wagons.  If a person waited to 16-17% you’d have to wait till spring here that  dry might be achieved one in 20 years in the fall here.  Supposedly if it floats in a stock tank it’s good to go.
