southern MN | Back in the day it was common to make a poor mans crib from wooden snow fence.
Up here the cold weather will preserve it, and with air flow it will slowly dry over several months. The middle of a big crib might not get dry, but if you are feeding out of it it’s constantly moving and getting fed before the warm summer comes up here again.
The key you had was a carport, only a roof, the air could flow.
I’m not sure if a commodity shed would allow enough air flow, probably but something to consider.
