Richland Center, Wi | I just went through cataract surgery. I have had very bad eyes for most of my life (I started wearing glasses in the 3rd grade and should have sooner). I also have significant astigmatism (due to a condition called pellucid marginal degeneration). I went with Toric lenses (they corrected my vision for both distance and the astigmatism). My vision without glasses is now 20/40 which is truly amazing for me. I also have prescription progressive bifocals. I wear them most of the time except when doing computer work.
I am very pleased with how things turned out. I had the procedure done by the cornea specialist at Gunderson in La Crosse, WI.
I would highly recommend getting the corrective implants which correct for distance only. Both my surgeon and optometrist cautioned against bifocal corrective implants.
I am 59. Email in profile is good.
