In December, I was 200+ lbs with an HA1C of 6.3 and glucose @140-150 which had held steady like that for 3 years. My HDL/Total ratio was 4:1 over that same time with triglycerides 120-145. My weight at his office is down to 170.
After 3 months on a keto light diet (I still had ice cream at night but no breads and very limited carbs), my HA1C has dropped to 5.3, glucose to 108 and my HDL/Total ratio is 3:1 with triglycerides down to 66.
The doctor took me off metformin and cut one of my blood pressure medicines in half today with a goal of monitoring to take me totally off it.
What I will share about this diet approach is that I am generally satisfied and not grumpy like I have been with just portion reductions I've done before.
