NW Tennessee | Although I have a charcoal smoker, I decided I wanted one that required less attention, easier to operate, and a temperature probe, so I went with an electric one. I’m not happy with it at all. Not much smoky flavor, no smoke ring at all, and doesn’t even turn the chips to ash. They look like charcoal when I get done cooking. Not sure if it’s just the one I have or if that’s typical of all electric ones, although my SIL has a different brand that he likes. Any experience with and/or recommendations on good electric smokers? Or are pellet smokers the better way to go?
