Each one is very tragic.
In this case the young man was found in the field by his father. He was pinned under a combine cornhead mounted on a large self propelled chopper. He had taken the chopper to the field alone, something he rarely, if ever did. He was testing the chopper to see that everything was set correctly with new knives installed, ahead of the start of harvesting earlage in the days ahead. He was the father of 3 school aged children.

40 plus years ago the victims grandfather was killed in a farm accident involving a smaller pull type chopper in the farmyard. Discovered by his son....... the same man who found his son pinned under the cornhead last night. Simply heartbreaking!


Any accident like that is sad but that is just horrible!! Lord be with that guy...
