Central NC | Called a bow bar, see pic, will not pinch, can cut standing up, stop on bar keeps it off ground also, used a lot here in southeast in 50s and early 60s cutting short pulpwood, they are outlawed to sell now from what I know, can find on eBay, u can really cut limbs or small log on ground quickly, with a straight bar u gotta get on your knees especially with a bad back, can’t use it needing a wedge for whatever reason
