| I was in the exact position after my grandmother had a stroke and couldn't swallow. I consented to a feeding tube. Two years later, while helping her get dressed the nursing home accidently pulled the tube out. Since she was eating softened food the doctor said not to put it in again. To the comment "it can be taken out" I was told the same thing in the hospital by the social worker. At the nursing home they told me it cannot be taken out unless she can get nourishment another way. | |
