That’s a tough situation when you start down that road. I was POA for a cousin with end stage COPD. Probably once a year he would have to go to the hospital for a “tune up”. One of those times he landed in ICU and they wanted to put him on ventilator. I said no he wouldn’t want that. The doc sat down with me and explained that she thought he would only need it for a day or so and would likely recover to his prior condition. I finally said ok so they did the vent. He did come out of it and lived for several more years. But i hate having to make those decisions as it seems a slippery slope. About all you can do is talk to the Man upstairs and ask for His guidance. |
