SW Wisconsin | I saw a YouTube video once of somebody who took a bonafide minor league pitcher to one of those pitching things. The gun was reading 60-something, the guy said he was throwing 87, and when they analyzed their video footage the guy was actually throwing about 88. I don't know if my numbers are right, but the machine was definitely rigged. It wouldn't shock me if they had a switch in there so every so often somebody would get higher-than-actual speeds to get people interested, and then they'd switch the speed down again. Someday it would be fun to try throwing with a radar gun I could trust. When I'm warmed up I have a decent arm for snowballs, I wouldn't be surprised if I could hit 80. My brother can make your hand hurt through a baseball glove, I bet he actually could hit 90. He throws frisbees more than baseballs, and he's broken a few competition grade frisbees on my hand or other obstacles. | |
