Northeastern Pa. | That tractor runs in the 7700 light limited class and pulls with Interstate Pullers. That class has big hp and lots of wheel speed. Makes sense if the owner wasn't running the sled. That sled usually starts hard and come down on you hard so something was certainly not working. I've seen the shutoff cable get caught between rear weights during a hot run pulling the stop cable and the sled safely stopped the tractor I didn't like where the end flagman was standing. I've flagged for Interstate and always at the start line. I hold the green flag out pointing straight ahead if I can't see any issues until the tractor passes me. I'll have this crash in the back of my mind now both as a puller and flagger. Interstate should have official flaggers like East Coast does. That might help but again sled operator had the full view of what wasn't happening. The box wasn't going up. | |
